Lady Gardening
Illustration, Character Design
There was this lady in a fancy neighborhood, watering the greens, wearing green. In her invisibility, you could see the yellow of her sewing threads, her naked arms and grey hair.
“It's only another invisible lady”, you'd think “The maid.”
In her invisibility you saw restlessness, worrying to water the plants and get back on with her work. But that gesture of care was what made the garden alive and beautiful. Let there be people who worry with the greens, as there are some that only live in the grey.

Sometimes I sketch what I see in my city. I had an ugly sketching sitting around about this lady. I remembered the felling and she gave me and decided to write about her, give her a story, and only afterwards give her shape and colors.
This was a character design exploration, that evolved from digital to traditional drawing, and again to digital and 3D modeling.
