Foco Famílias Online

“Foco Familias” is an anual event for families that happens at Teatro Municipal do Porto. In 2020, the world had stopped because of an unexpected pandemic, and this event had to be postponed.
However, as culture must never be put on pause, “Foco Famílias” evolved from a physical event to a virtual one.
At a time where everyone was forced to stop their work, stop their routines and human interactions, it was only right to design the concept of stopping time.
The bouncing ball felt perfect to achieve this visual because it is close to the theater's own brand but is also very playful—perfect for a family-oriented event.
Process
As we sketched ideas and tested colors, we spoke with Celia Machado to help define pacing in animation. With her expertise, the design was refined and the 3d mockup was developped. After all these it was just the slow timing of setting the scenes and making the stop motion.
